Will it be hot? Will it be wet? Who really knows? I guess that’s what we love about our English summers – the uncertainty of it all!
A few little jobs to be thinking about during the month of August.
Regularly deadhead and harvesting flowering plants.
Feed hanging baskets and and planted containers.
Pinch out the top of tomato plants leaving 5-6 trusses of fruit per plant.
Take pictures of your garden at it’s peak. Remember to include pictures of container combinations you’d like to repeat next year.
Keep water in ponds and water features topped up as they provide a welcome drink for insects in hotter weather.
