I have created a series of workshops aimed at looking at the world around us through a macro lens. The intention of each workshop is to encourage an alternative way of looking at existing and new subjects. Each workshop will also show that it’s not about the equipment or the lighting or the big flash studio and that anyone can achieve great results with the minimum of expense and within the confines of the kitchen table.
The Macro Taster Workshop is designed for photographers who would like to dip their toe in the world of macro photography without splashing out on expensive equipment that may never be used again. It’s about enjoying a different genre of photography using the simplest of everyday household items as your subjects and some simple lighting.
The Extreme-Macro Photography Workshop looks at the same objects used in the Macro Taster Workshop but on a totally different level. Here, we will be using a true macro lens that has the option of using up to 5 x magnifications; a great opportunity to see things really up close and personal.
