Inspiration, Ramblings, Resources, & Tutorials

You name it – it’s all here!

If you’re one of my regular Newsletter aficionado’s then you’ll know that each month I include a section called “What’s on my Screen” which shows a picture of my screen and whatever I happen to be working on at the time. However, I was recently asked if I ever finished them and if so why aren’t they visible online as the person would love to see them in more detail? Often I do put them on social media but not always, and the lovely algorithms determine whether you see it or not, and occasionally I’ll add them to the gallery. So I’ve decided that at the start of each month I’m going to blog the images created the previous month along with a little bit about them.

October 2025

After a hectic year volunteering for Swindon Open Studios I was absolutely shattered, frustrated I hadn’t created much throughout the year, but also had a head full of ideas that needed exploring. I’ve written down most of the ideas so I don’t forget them and decided to start with some gentle digital elements to create a couple of composite images.

I started with a self-portrait of me at the end of the 2nd Open Studios weekend, completely knackered and enjoying a quiet 5 minutes with a brew whilst reflecting on the past few months.

A quite time for reflection, a female skeleton drinking a cup of tea.

As the final SOS Committee meeting approached I used the same series of elements to create a group portrait of my fellow committee members, I think they liked it, although they haven’t said much?

The image is created with 42 different layers.

And finally Halloween was on the horizon, the perfect excuse to take the cat on our annual visit to the local graveyard to meet up with a couple of friends!

This image is made up of 12 different layers.

I really love Steampunk and Gothic so can see more of this style on the horizon.
