Easter Fun
A fun whimsical image created during the Easter holidays. It’s made up using 8 different layers, the girl, the rabbit, the rabbits, the butterfly, the egg shaped head and flower, 2 flower backgrounds and the egg ear-rings.

The Shed
The following week saw something a little different for me – an abstract.
“The Shed” is made from one single image as the base layer with different parts of it duplicated several times into 11 different layers. 2 textures have been added to bring out the colours and add the vignette edging.

Originals
Below, on the left, is the original base layer for “The Shed”.
On the right, is the original image of the pier which was the starting point for “Icy Winds”.

Icy Winds
Another abstract created in the 3rd week, this time twirling and swirling in Photoshop. (At one point I thought it might turn into Abstract April!
“Icy Winds” started life as a photograph of the metal work under a pier in Alaska, as shown above. The base image has been duplicated, flipped and manipulated 4 times, then brightened as it was on the dark side, and finally hue and saturation was played with the change the colours.

Wisteria Maiden
This week I’m celebrating the Wisteria Festivals, known as Fuji Matsuri, held in Japan in late April/early May, to mark the transition from spring to summer.
Wisteria is native to Japan, China and Korea.
Wisteria Maiden is made from 4 elements & multiple watercolour layers with some gentle blending and masking.

Four months complete, something I never thought I’d manage, 8 months to go. Looking forward to May already!
